2012 SPRING PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH OUR ON-LINE REGISTRATION FORM, PLEASE CALL US OR E-MAIL US AND LET US KNOW. WE WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO MAIL YOU OUR BROCHURE, WHICH CONTAINS A REGISTRATION FORM.

Thank you.

Refunds: There will be no refunds for our Player Development sessions. Instead, you will receive a credit toward either the Spring Player Development or the 2012 summer camps. So, please choose wisely. BECAUSE THIS IS A SHORTER PROGRAM WITH LESS PARTICIPANTS, WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING CREDITS FROM THE FALL SESSIONS.

PPGC-ChargeThe Plan

  • Player’s strengths and weaknesses will be evaluated and each player will be given a practice plan on how to improve.
Instruction will be tailored to the skill level of the individual player.
Groups will consist of no more than 10 players per coach to allow for hands-on instruction.
Instruction will be tailored to meet the needs of the player's position, guard or forward.
This is not a basketball camp setting; it is a highly personalized player development course.
Players will be matched with other players of equal age and skill level for lessons.
Each player will receive a Philly Point Guard Camp T-shirt and reversible jersey.
We always emphasize that player and skill development does not come from playing five-on-five. What you learn from us can be incorporated into the five-on-five situation later on.
Improvement and development comes from daily dedication to a practice plan in the offseason. Allow us the opportunity to provide the practice plan. The daily dedication will be left up to you.

A lot of youngsters have the desire to get better, many have the ability, many possess the work ethic, but most young athletes have no idea HOW to get better.

What sets us apart from the rest of the pack?

  • It’s what we teach and how we teach it
  • We teach you a move – whether it be on offense or defense – and we explain “why” that move is necessary and “how” you need to utilize it
  • We are very detailed in everything we teach, which is why we will be limiting the number of participants per group.
  • We will always answer the “whys” and “why nots.”
  • We are all about basketball. Our coaches would coach basketball 24/7 if it was physically possible.
  • We teach basketball with intensity and passion
  • We are totally focused on helping you become a better player.

What will you be working on?

  • Footwork
  • Conditioning
  • Defense (man-to-man and zone)
  • Ball handling
  • Passing
  • One-on-one moves
  • Moving without the ball
  • Cutting and faking
  • Using screens
  • Escaping the trap
  • Transition offense

Our goals

Our goal at Philly Point Guard Camp is to help each and every participant get better. So, each session will be focused on a particular area with the sole purpose being that it will help you get better.

A lot of youngsters have the desire to get better, many have the ability, many possess the work ethic, but most young athletes have no idea HOW to get better.
